In my role as an MENTOR, I have the privilege of lecturing and teaching about storytelling, animation, emerging technologies, and direction. I love witnessing others shine and grow.

I’m a MAKER, I have a knack for bringing ideas to fruition. Whether it's through pencil and paper, computer witchcraft, or even using immersive head-mounted XR devices, I transform concepts into reality. I’m scrappy at getting things done, whether crafting a book, directing a short film, wireframing a site flow, or creating a compelling pitch deck.

Above all, I am a DIRECTOR. I relish being behind the camera lens or computer monitor, driving projects forward and guiding them toward a unified vision. It is my passion to translate ideas into visual experiences and to bring out the best in both the creative team and the final outcome.

art school projects!

Here’s a glimpse of me in my grad school days, playing an invention I designed and built. Titled the “boxman resonator”, a computer mouse was rigged to track a cello bow’s movement across real strings, embedded within a hacked computer keyboard that captured each string’s depression by by pressing in single keyboard letters. The digital signals were translated into MIDI using Max MSP. The instrument merged digital and acoustic sound into an interactive feedback loop that produced a glorious cacophony. And, yes, I still have those shoes.

I also play the drums. After 30 years of playing, I’m fortunate enough to still have the time, bandmates, and space to set up my kit.

Ok, one last art school project that says a bit about me.

That’s me riding the waves in Venice, CA while my wife supported me using an industrial-sized fishing pole that I made.

At the time (many years ago), my wife was supporting me through grad school, and this was a project that required me to illustrate structural support. Hence, it seemed appropriate to have some fun with the notion that I got to ride the waves of academia while she bore my weight.
