As the Executive Creative Director, I successfully managed and guided the development of three distinct collection drops: The 1970's: Music & Culture Vol 01 and 02, City Diaries: Visual Narratives from Around the World, and Portraits: Echoes Across the Lens of Time.
In this role, I collaborated closely with curators from Getty Images, ensuring meticulous image selection, effective branding of collection names and logo treatments, and the creation of compelling marketing assets. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in designing the website layout and structuring the drops for optimal user experience.
The 1970s: Music & Culture
We launched our first drop with a focus on the vibrant music and culture of the 1970s. This collection showcased iconic artists, legendary musicians, and pivotal moments that shaped the careers of influential figures like David Bowie, Paul McCartney, The Who, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix, among others.
During the process of curating this collection, I found myself transported back to my teenage years, reminiscing about my formative experiences in my music-filled bedroom, where so much of my music education and identity was formed.
City Diaries: Visual Narratives from Around the World
The City Diaries collection consisted of digital photographs of seven iconic cities around the world: New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Mexico City, Istanbul, and Mumbai.
To promote this collection, we crafted a compelling marketing trailer that creatively employed free online Google geometry. By skillfully recontextualizing the city geometry with a paper-like material, we created a canvas where the images are presented, next to projection mapped city names. The result is a fusion of art and tech that accentuates the unique character of each city within the collection.
Portraits: Echoes Across the Lens of Time.
Exposure's third collection unveiled a series of portrait photographs spanning the years 1860 to 1890. This remarkable period marked a significant milestone in the democratization of photography, as it became accessible to the general public for the first time. Within this collection, we carefully curated portraits of a diverse range of individuals, including renowned figures like Charles Dickens, circus performers, former slaves, and everyday citizens. These selections vividly captured the vast spectrum of society during that era, offering a compelling glimpse into the lives and stories of people from different walks of life.
